Bouzy Rouge WIN !!
Having been awarded ‘Hotel of the Year’ in their first year of business, now Bouzy Rouge owners Jose and Sandra D’Oliviera are celebrating again with the announcement of the A.H.A. 2010 State Awards for Excellence.
Originally nominated for the Best Restaurant (Metro) and Best Service (back of house) they were thrilled this evening to be announced winners in BOTH categories!
The awards were held at the Palladium at Crown and hosted by comedian Vince Sorrenti, which gave the audience a night off, from what is usually a very long week.
Sangria and Paella Sundays -the all weather courtyard at Bouzy Rouge
The first Sunday of each month - Begins Sunday 6th December 09
If a full menu of nothing but sangrias and an oversized Paella dish bubbling with seafood, saffron rice and aromatics isn’t enough, then the beautiful surrounds of the Bouzy Rouge courtyard will complete the picture perfectly for a lazy Sunday lunch spent outdoors.
French doors lead out to an all weather treed area where a massive reconstructed Venetian mirror and palatial Moroccan carved doors set an exotic ‘outdoors’ scene in the Bouzy Rouge courtyard. With it’s fully opening roof, it’s a great all weather space that allows the tradition of paella in the open air to continue.
Bouzy Rouge chef James Smythe has just returned from a wonderful trip, spent dining his way around Spain and Portugal - the home of Bouzy’s owner Jose D’Oliveira. Under the brilliant sunshine of Spain’s North, he fell in love with the Paella’s of the Valencia region. – said to be the original home of Paella.
The Guiness Book of Records sights a Valencian, restaurateur as having made the world’s largest paella that supposedly fed a massive 110,000 people and James may start off feeding about 40 but who knows where these courtyard crowds will lead !
